Spectrum Worldwide Recruits 4,000 Volunteers to Assist in all Aspects of Event

Spectrum Worldwide is delivering the operational aspects of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2009 (SCSM 2009) and has been tasked with providing all aspects of the route including aid stations, as well as, site management related services to manage the Start Point, Finish Point, Athlete Welfare Area, Baggage Storage Facility, Hospitality and Carnival Area.  The event relies heavily on volunteers and Spectrum has now completed recruiting the 4,000 necessary to support the event.

With 50,000 runners participating in 2008, the event continues to grow and depends strongly on solid planning and infrastructure to ensure runners have an enjoyable and safe experience.

Over the years, members of the organising committee and runners have credited supporters and volunteers for adding to the race experience, and for giving runners the encouragement needed to complete their races.

The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) recorded another first in the history of the event with 50,000 runners signing up for the annual race in under three weeks. This represents an astounding figure of about 70 runners signing up every hour since registration opened on July 16.
